Woven Figures was an exhibition made for the 2009 Midsumma Festival at Guildford Lane Gallery in Melbourne. Projected from five separate projectors one metre from the ground, viewers walked between the projectors and the image, casting shadows of themselves onto the artwork. The video images were constructed in Lightwave by projecting photographs onto 3D computer-generated fabrics.

Woven Fields

Woven Fields was first exhibited as part of Melbourne Fringe 2008 at T J Bateson Studio Gallery alongside the weavings of Renee Friend. My work, the woven tea bag series, was re-shown in January 2009 at the City Library Gallery as part of the Midsumma Festivial 2009.

It was this work that formed the ideas for the Woven Figure series that followed at Guildford Lane Gallery (above). Working with the raw materials (Tea Bags) to construct a work was totally outside of my normal practice to date. Working with Renee proved a valuable way to extend and challenge my practice.
