Video installation at Guildford Lane Galleries in 2009 - click image to view video

Woven Figures was an exhibition made for the 2009 Midsumma Festival. The exhibition was at Guildford Lane Galleries in Melbourne. The work was projected from 5 projectors, 1 metre from the ground and which allowed viewers to walk between, casting shadows as they moved through the projection. The video images were constructed in Lightwave by projecting photographs onto 3D fabrics.

Woven Fields

Woven Fields was first exhibited as part of Melbourne Fringe 2008 at T J Bateson Studio Gallery alongside the weavings of Renee Friend. My work of the woven tea bag series was to be re-shown in January 2009 in the City Library as part of the Midsumma Festival 2009.

It was this work that formed the ideas for the Woven Figures series that followed at Guildford Lane Galleries (above). Working with the raw materials (tea bags) to construct a work was totally outside of my normal practice to date. Working with Renee proved to be a very valuable way of extending and challenging my practice.
